WP7 Intro
After working with Windows Mobile OS for few years we can clearly say that
Microsoft is very disappointed. Because they see that Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android are getting more exposure than Windows Mobile. So Microsoft decides to take a new strategy. They stop updating Windows Mobile OS and goes for a brand new Mobile OS. And Microsoft did very well there. They make a new style of Mobile OS. They learnt from the success of their current desktop OS, Windows 7. And they apply the techniques in Mobile platform perfectly.
A modern smartphone OS needs to be balanced - drawing on excellent cloud services and standing on the cutting edge of software. Windows Phone 7 is a mobile operating system developed by Microsoft. It is the successor to its Windows Mobile platform. The Windows Phone 7 OS is nothing like Windows Mobile. WP7 changes everything about itself – from the home screen to the very nature of apps. Microsoft creates a new method of installing apps in WP7. WP7 is incredibly easy to use and nice to look. Microsoft represents it totally differently to the people. They introduce a brand new interface in WP7.
The center of the new mobile experience are the so-called Hubs – they herd together related stuff from the Web, from apps and from services.
Microsoft tries to give WP7 more perfection by accessing all of their online services to you. Bing Search and Maps are a part of the WP7 OS. Rather than apps, so are Xbox Live and the Zune Marketplace. And the new Internet Explorer mobile is with you.
WP7 launched in Europe, Singapore and Australia on October 21, 2010, and in the US and Canada on November 8, 2010, Mexico on November 24, 2010, with Asia to follow in 2011. Microsoft already sold 2 million WP7 phone after 3 months of release. Moreover, they successfully add most of the top mobile phone manufacturers of the world like Samsung, HTC, Sony Ericsson etc. Windows Phone 7 only started its journey. There is a long journey ahead of Microsoft.
